I have loved working with “found” objects for as long as I can remember. In1968 when I was living in Sausalito, the San Francisco Examiner wrote an article about my jewelry and how I found all the treasures used to create them - I was doing “repurposed” before the word was even born! Now my search for unique beads and supplies extends to Italy where we have a home in Tuscany. Every visit there includes searches in the flea markets and antique shops for special pieces to incorporate into my creations. I am thrilled this new trend in “assemblage” jewelry allows me to dig out some of those beads of the 60’s and combine them with my recent discoveries to create something fabulously “new”. For me, the best day is one spent at my workbench with my favorite music playing and my favorite treasures beckoning me to create that special one of a kind piece.
